AstraZeneca will continue to contribute to Japanese patients and healthcare professionals with various ideas
In order to respond to sophisticated healthcare needs in Japan, we are focusing our efforts on strengthening our network with Japanese healthcare professionals and collaborating with Global to develop new medicines. In marketing our products, we are making the best of our strength and overall capability as a global organization, hoping that we take the leadership in Japan.

Strength as a global company supports our activities in Japan
In order to share the benefits of leading edge science with people around the world, we need a sophisticated and elaborate system using communication tools such as internet, information technology (IT), etc. At AstraZeneca we share a vast volume of data required for the development and filing of new drug applications among development sites around the globe.

Also in manufacturing and supply of medicines in various markets of the world, under the Global Supply Chain & Manufacturing Strategy, we aim at speediness, proper cost, and accurate and stable supply in response to demands by using our global network, thereby increasing efficiency of the entire AstraZeneca Group. Maihara Factory is playing the key role in Japan.

A great deal of information on safety and efficacy of our products collected by Medical Representatives around the world is quickly provided to physicians and pharmacists. At the same time, such a database is analyzed and evaluated in depth, and its feedback is made for research and development of new medicines. Further, we have established a system on which employees can search medical and pharmaceutical reports published in various countries by creating a database of abundant publications.

We meet customer needs with professionalism
Professionalism is indeed our corporate posture. AstraZeneca regards it as its mission that in a series of functions such as R&D, manufacturing, information provision, post-marketing information collection, marketing and sales, etc. we create added value as professionals in these respective functions.

Medical Representatives are the point of contact with customers. They represent our professionalism in their role of providing drug information accurately, quickly and sufficiently to the healthcare scene. Aiming at higher expertise we have two business units by therapeutic area.
